Mandatory minimum sentences – which take sentencing power out of the hands of judges – have caused the number of drug offenders in federal prison to explode from 25% of the total inmate population in 1981 to 60% in 2001.

The Cost of Prohibition Taxing and regulating marijuana would produce combined savings and tax revenues of between $10 billion and $14 billion per year, according to a report funded by the MPP grants program and endorsed by 500 distinguished economists, including Nobel Prize-winner Dr. Milton Friedman.

Committee for Sensible Marijuana Policy MPP is assisting the Committee for Sensible Marijuana Policy in passing a ballot initiative to decriminalize the possession of small amounts of marijuana in Massachusetts in November 2008.

Past Campaigns

Granite Staters for Medical Marijuana MPP is pushing the presidential candidates to take strong, public, positive positions on medical marijuana during the presidential primary campaign in New Hampshire, the first state to hold a primary.

NV: Committee to Regulate and Control Marijuana MPP's Committee to Control and Regulate Marijuana won 44% of the vote for an initiative to end marijuana prohibition in Nevada in November 2006.

Regulate Marijuana in Alaska Although this initiative to remove all penalties for marijuana use by adults aged 21 and older lost by 44% to 56%, it was the all-time biggest vote for ending marijuana prohibition in the history of the country.

This is really good. I cant wait for the near future to see these ads on my tv. The ignorant view of Cannabis prohibitionists are on the way OUT and the truth is finally showing through!
