BETHEL TWP, Ohio-One of the largest and most sophisticated operations we've ever had in Clark County.

That's the way Sheriff Gene Kelly describes the raid on a "grow house" in the western part of the county on Wednesday, Sept. 15.

Deputies working with Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification first spotted a single marijuana plant from the air.

They later found two suspicious looking males nearby, and detained them after one claimed ownership of the plant.

The men--Raul Hernadez Sanroman, 47, and Armando Deleon Lara, 34, both of that address--were charged with illegal cultivation of marijuana and placed in the Clark County Jail.

After obtaining a search warrant, deputies went inside 12092 Dille Road and discovered another 247 plants valued at $313,000, plus irrigation and fertilization equipment, and processed marijuana ready for sale. Kelly said the home didn't appear to be used as a residence.

The investigation continues and additional charges could be filed.

Earlier in the day, helicopter searches also led to the seizure of another 65 plants growing in a field near Victorys Safety Lane and Spangler Road.
