SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. - Federal officials seized about $5 million worth of marijuana from a big rig truck whose driver was arrested at a border patrol checkpoint.

The man was arrested Thursday near this coastal Orange County town after a U.S. Customs and Border Protection dog sniffed the narcotics, patrol agent Paul Blocker said.

The marijuana found in the back of the truck weighed in at more than 13,000 pounds, Blocker said.

No information was available on the driver, or whether or not the drugs were brought across the border.
