Bagseed, outdoor soil, 2009, Broken branch

I have got this 7 foot mostly sativa plant outdoors. She is tied down 2 times by main stalk and 5 of her secondary stalkes are also tied down, bringing her to about 4 foot of the ground. She is still veging. I went to see her and noticed that the 3rd secondary stalk from the bottom (which was tied down) has split from the main stalk and was lying on the ground. It was only still attached by a small piece of flesh under the branch. there was a large 2inch x2inch gash exposing the insides of the main stalk.
I propped the broken branch up with some bricks.

What would you recommend to save my only baby?

It depends on how badly broken the branch is.

Going on your description alone, I would simply remove it cleanly where it meets the main stem and allow the plant to heal properly.

The branch is still perky so ill let it go and observe for a few days.
