Big pot & little seedling watering

Hello all!

I’m growing some autos for the first time. I’m not transplanting and went right into final pot. Im using a 3 gallon smart pot. My medium is Promix HP. A peat based high porosity mix.

I have been using a spray bottle feeding them up until day 6. But I’m finding the surface drying out very fast. And I’m growing concerned of a lack of moisture at lower depths.

Can anyone vouch for this medium as being hard to overwater even a seedling? I’m not looking to water the entire medium. But I’m wondering how thin the line is between normal and overwatering in this scenario! Any advice would be appreciated:)

Ps: As in my pic. I concentrate most spraying in a small circle around plant. And just wet the outer rim, so it can put off some humidity.

Watering in a small circle for now is smart. Keep doing what your doing and pay extra close attention to signs of over/underwatering and go from there. Some girls can handle more than others, you'll have to let your plant tell you how shes doing.
