Senate Bill 705 will be heard before the Judicial Proceedings
Committee next Wednesday, February 28, while House Bill 940 will
receive its public hearing one day later on Thursday, March 1. Bill
hearings in both committees begin at 1:00 p.m. and more than 10 bills
are scheduled to be heard in each committee on those days.

As is the case every Wednesday, tonight's edition of the Les
Kinsolving Radio Show on Baltimore's AM 680, WCBM Radio, will feature
several Maryland state legislators discussing topics before the House
and Senate. The program airs from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. and will
broadcast live from the King of France Tavern in the Maryland Inn in
Annapolis.

Maryland citizens are encouraged to call in to the show to ask
tonight's panel of legislators to support the medical marijuana bills.
You can take part in the radio program by calling the following phone

In related news, more than 300 e-mails and letters have been sent to
Maryland state legislators, asking them to co-sponsor the medical
marijuana bills. If you have not yet sent letters, it is not too late
for legislators to co-sponsors the bills. Also, be sure to encourage
your friends and family in Maryland to send letters, if you have not
already done so.

Lastly, MPP has authored several letters-to-the-editor that you can
submit to state and local newspapers to voice support for the medical
marijuana bills. Positive letters have already appeared in the
Frederick News Post and the Star Democrat in Easton. You can read
these letters on MPP's Maryland Web site and obtain copies of MPP's
pre-written letters at MD - MPP

HOW TO SUPPORT THE MARIJUANA POLICY PROJECT

MPP's state legislative monitoring service is funded entirely by the
donations of MPP allies and members nationwide. In order to continue
with this service in your state in 2002, MPP needs to raise $1,000 or
more from your state this year. Please see:
Marijuana Policy Project | We Change Laws

If you find MPP's legislative monitoring service helpful, please
consider making a donation at: Marijuana Policy Project | We Change Laws

Because MPP devotes 100% of its efforts toward influencing public
policy, contributions are not tax-deductible. However, the above link
also provides a way to make a tax-deductible donation.
