22 September 2004 - Hip-hop superstars, Method Man and Busta Rhymes, ignited the stage with their fast-paced, high energy performances at Matthews Arena Saturday night for Fall fest '04.

Doors to the concert were set to open at 6 p.m. Many students, however, were already in line in front of the arena well before 5:30 p.m.

Before being allowed into the show, students had to walk through metal detectors and have IDs checked... Adriana Campos, a sophomore political science and journalism major, admits to not listening to Busta Rhymes and Method Man, but says nevertheless, the show was exciting.

"[All the] energy made it fun," she said. Busta Rhymes, wearing a red baseball-like uniform with "flipmode" printed across the front, told students that if they smoke marijuana to take their lighters out and wave them in the air. To this, many students obliged.

19 February 2004 - Brad Kava of The Mercury News was on hand at Busta Rhymes concert at San Francisco's Fillmore Saturday night and revealed the show changed course after Rhymes sipped on expensive cognac and puffed on what appeared to be a pair of marijuana joints. Kava said, "The resulting buzz seemed to affect Rhymes who, instead of rapping, slowly recited the often-profane lyrics to 'Wife in Law,' a song about casually hooking up with a woman, as if he were a Harvard professor reading a Shakespearean sonnet."

27 December 1998 - Rhymes was arrested and charged with criminal possession after police found a loaded, unregistered pistol in his car. The police also found a small bag of marijuana on Gerald Odom, Rhymes' manager, who was riding in the car at the time. Odom was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a weapon.
