CFL life span

Realisticly, whats the life span of CFL's. Does the prolonged ON periods decrease the life faster than the package label states? I know the label always gives a avg 3hr per day usage. Sould I just go ahead and replace them every grow to be safe? Thanks. . . Bagz

If you're buying them 'right' (cheap) just try putting a new bulb along side the others you've already used and see if there's a profound difference. If there is replace them all as the lumens will certainly suffer over the next grow....and if there's no difference or very little just use them up.....imo for what it's worth.
