your buds should last for a few years being vacuum sealed. a few years back I found a nug in a old coat I have not wore in like 4 or 5 yrs. it was dry as hell but still packed a kick. as for it tasting better. I'm not sure about this, the nug in my coat was only in a ziplock bag
