Can cuttings be taken after after flowering has begun or do they need to be taken before flowering stage? When is the best time to take cuttings? Thanks

The easiest time is before flowering,

but after they start flowering will work too,

it just takes longer and there is less chance of success,

as they have to revert to vegetative growth and grow roots,

kind of at the same time.

Thanks for all the replies. One other question......with an autoflowering plant does it matter what the light cycle is? If the plant is going to go from veggie to flower stage no matter what the light cycle is because of genetics then does it matter if the light cycle is 18 on or 12 on? Hope this makes sence.

If I understand you what you are saying is that the light can be on 18 hours throughout the flowering stage without harming the outcome? If this is the case then I could take cuttings when the plant changes from veggie to flowering and keep the cuttings in the same grow area with the same light cycle? Thanks again.

I think with autos, the more light the better, up to a point.

18/6 all the way through was good for me :)

Hi Olypenn :welcome: to :420:

I would not take any cuttings from an autoflowering plant.

Autos flower with age,

there is no way to stop them, like with photoperiod plants.

The cuttings will flower as cuttings, if they root.

Autos are a one horse race, I'm afraid.
