The DEA has removed from its website information deemed inaccurate about marijuana following months of public pressure.

Americans for Safe Access, a national nonprofit dedicated to making cannabis legal, filed a legal request with the Justice Department last year in hopes of forcing the DEA to remove factually inaccurate information, the L.A. Daily Post reports.

The nonprofit claimed there were more than 25 false statements on the DEA's website, including inaccuracies about marijuana causing psychosis and irreversible cognitive declines.

"The DEA's removal of these popular myths about cannabis from their website could mean the end of the Washington gridlock" said Steph Sherer, executive director of Americans for Safe Access. "This is a victory for medical cannabis patients across the nation, who rely on cannabis to treat serious illnesses. The federal government now admits that cannabis is not a gateway drug, and doesn't cause long-term brain damage, or psychosis. While the fight to end stigma around cannabis is far from over, this is a big first step."

Hmm i am glad they removed the inaccuracies, but THC Cannabis can and will exaberate phycosis in a patient who has been diagnosed with phycosis.

THC can and will exaberate panic attacks, paronoia and patients with such diagnosis should also stay away from THC or at least HIGH thc of more then i would say 5% which would mean NO Street MJ Drugs as 90% would be over 5%.

Go smoke a 1:1 of 5:5% THC/CBD and those paitents will be ok as long as they not smoke a ton of it at once meaning smoke in moderation of one joint and see how it is after 1hr.

So MJ does not cause these metal health issues, but can and has and will exaborate them only High THC will.

Now as for CBD smoke it all ya want as it will relax you and not bring upon any of the mental health issues, but will make you sleepy and nighty nighty nite of relaxation and sleep.

The only way to end the idiocy about cannabis is to bombard every elected official with demands that cannabis be rescheduled down to at least schedule III. This would allow normal financial services for those in the "legal" cannabis industry, remove the Second Amendment restrictions for medical cannabis patients, help curb egregious asset forfeiture policies, and open wide the research into medical cannabis research.
Write, phone, fax and email those elected officials and apply the pressure.

To give the DEA's drug schedule any credulity whatsoever they need to eliminate the
most egregious error in the whole schedule, namely, that cannabis is a Schedule 1 drug.
There is currently an avalanche of evidence and research that it HAS numerous health applications.
And it has nothing that approaches the danger, toxicity, or permanent effects of any of the other drugs
in Schedule 1 (i.e. Heroin, Meth, etc.) or even alcohol, for that matter.
