First time grow

Hello everyone,

First time growing and I’m in the flowering stage. 3.5 weeks in. I think everything is going good but looking for some pointers/opinions on how she looks and what I can do to make my grow better. Only issue I seem to have is a slight yellowing of a few of the leaf tips.

Here is my set up:

2x2x4 tent
600w LED light
Growing in soil
Using general hydroponics 3 part series as well as cal-mag
Temp range 68-72
Humidity 38-48%

looking for some pointers/opinions on how she looks and what I can do to make my grow better.

Well, you've managed the main thing, it appears, which is turning off the blurple when taking pictures of your plants. That's probably the most important thing in the universe, right there. Purple, unnatural-looking light makes it anywhere from rather difficult to completely impossible to get a true impression of exactly what the plant being illuminated actually looks like. Also, it's almost as annoying as unexpectedly learning that the woman you're about to go down on has a hairy p*ssy instead of a thoroughly waxed one.

Er... I did state "almost," ;) .

Not quite as important, but still up there: Start a grow journal thread, so that others can follow along with your grow. Potential benefits to you include being able to talk about your grow to someone who won't then turn around and rob you (or tell someone else, who will) or cause you to get arrested (if living in an "illegal" region); it also tends to help in more direct ways with your plants, by providing lots more pairs of eyes to observe your plants and help you detect/diagnose any issues. See:

Here is my set up:

600w LED light

I'm assuming, since you didn't post pictures of scorched dead plants, that you're not really giving them 150 watts per square foot. How many watts' worth of light are you actually using?

Growing in soil
Using general hydroponics 3 part series

That'll work, but remember that this set of nutrients was designed and intended for hydroponic use - if/when you see a suggestion to adjust the pH to ~5.8, you'll need to mentally change that to "...adjust the pH to ~6.5."

Temp range 68-72

That's pretty doggone low for a lights-on temperature, assuming the plants are receiving anything approaching an adequate amount of light. Personally, I hope for a lights-on temperature of low- to mid-80s, up to around 86°F or 87°F if I'm trying to give them as much light-energy as they can be expected to be able to process without my having to add supplemental CO₂. And a lights-off temperature of about ten degrees cooler. Although I realize this may not be possible all the time in every location (I glanced at the thermometer in my house's main hallway a few minutes earlier... and it's 51°F in here :( ). But there's a direct relationship between temperature and the amount of light a cannabis plant can process. This doesn't mean that they'll be even happier in an oven, of course, lol.

Good luck with your grow!

Looks good from here I dont see any yellow tips.

I wouldn't stress it too much everything looks good.

You got great advice already so its just set to cruise and enjoy the grow.

Good luck.

Yeah your 150w/sf wood be over kill a tad. Your lamp probably isn't drawing 600w at the wall outlet. You'd be cooking them and that's not happening so that's a good thing.

I run 600w at the wall in a 4x4 space for reference.

yea I have the light just plugged into a surge protected strip with a timer. Doesn’t put off to much heat so the temps are typically around 70 everyday. Plants aren’t being scorched at all. I had been PHIng the water down to 5.8 during veg and now to 6.0-6.2 during flower. The tent is just to small for my liking so I plan on going bigger next go around. I flushed the plant on the 11th and about to give 2nd feeding after flush today. Looking nice and has a lot of crystals so far. Pictures to come later when light is off.

Just curious about your soil. Was it from a bag? Or, does it contain coco coir instead of peat moss? It is a natural mineral based soil or artificial?

I noticed in your msg that your flushed on the 11th and then you mentioned that you are "...about to give 2nd feeding after flush today." So my last last question is how often are you flushing the plant and its soil?

Soil is from bag, didn’t really expect to go this deep into grow was just practicing for next year and it turned into a full out grow setup lol. I have only flushed the Plant 2 times (once during veg and this other time during Flower.) looks like soil ingredients are: shellfish and compost, sphagnum peat moss, aged bark, and perlite, lime as ph adjuster.

Sounds like a decent soil mix.

I am just thinking that you might be going through more work than necessary with the extra flushing. Based on a lot of the reading here it sounds like most of the soil growers only flush once and that is a couple of weeks before harvest.

But if it works for you and you are happy with the results that is what counts.

I have not had any kind of ill effects from the flushes but also wouldn’t know since I’m new to the trade. Pics are from today.
