The Lake County Sheriff's Office's (LCSO) Narcotics Task Force, following up on reconnaissance flights over southern Lake County, raided about 10 marijuana grow sites last week, resulting in the eradication of 3,800 pot plants, according to authorities.

No arrests were made following what authorities are calling "compliance checks" that were conducted on Thursday and Friday in Jerusalem Valley, Morgan Valley and the Spruce Grove Road areas of Middletown and Lower Lake.

According to Lt. Steve Brooks, LCSO public information officer, all suspects ran off or escaped in vehicles.

The grow sites were "complex and large-scale," Brooks stated, with each site averaging between 300 and 400 plants.
