A public hearing to consider prohibiting the establishment and operation of medical marijuana dispensaries within the city of Fortuna will take place at Fortuna City Council's meeting at Fortuna City Hall on Monday at 6 p.m.
City officials stated the consideration was in order to better serve public health, safety and welfare for residences and businesses in the city.
If the ordinance were to be passed, any medical marijuana dispensary existing in the city would cease operations on the effective date of the new law.
