Hello all! Introduction & first time grow

Howdy all, first time coming to the site or any grow forum for that matter, wanted to introduce myself and maybe get a little advice about my first grow. So I decided to give growing a shot, I've been gardening my whole life but I have never cultivated cannabis. I've just recently have been studying hydroponics and I have built my own small system. It is a one gallon bucket with a 2 holes punctured on top. One hole is for the net cup, and the smaller hole is for the pvc pipe that houses my homemade airlift valve. The PVC pipe touches the very bottom of the hydro solution where a small airline tube is fitted all the way down inside the pipe. The airpump provides air down into the tube, into the water, which displaces the h20 with air, thus pushing the water up the pipe. Midway of the pipe, I have made a small hole just big enough to insert another small tube from it. When the water rises in the pvc pipe, it flows to the hole and provides water to the small tubing inserted. It pulses water threw the tube intermittently, where the water drips upon the roots of my plants. The plant has been through a lot so far. It's just some bag seed I found in some pretty potent medicine, so I decided to plant it. It was originally in a bigger container with soil, but i was overwatering it and the leaves started to droop and subsequently died. However, it's been growing but very very slowly. I've had it in solution for almost 2 weeks and in soil for almost a month and this is all the progress I've made. Using 3 cfl bulbs with about 80 true watts between them. Any suggestions? Please be kind, its my first grow and I'm just trying to learn! Thanks guys and gals!

Welcome to:420:
Just curious. What was the thought process behind moving a self admitted over watered plant into a bucket of water? Haha.

It looks like she is still drowning. The description of your setup leads me to believe the same thing. Constant water flow on the net pot is not typically a good thing. The roots need oxygen just as badly as they need water. What does the root system look like?

Haha, I let it dry out before transferring it. The root system seems like it has grown, but very slowly. Very wet. Should I stop the dripping, add an air stone, and maybe put a new bucket of solution where the water touches the roots? Lol go to soil?

Here's what the underside looks like. Not any root growth out of the cup.

Yea I would stop that top feed. Fill the bucket to within a couple inches of the netpot and drop an air stone in the bottom. You want the turbulence on the surface of the water to splash slightly onto the netpot. The roots need to seek water to grow. Keep the temps down and the bubbles up

Went out and bought expanded clay and 2 fine air bubbles. Replaced the top drip tube with these air stones. Added about an inch of hydroton first to the bottom of the net up and then gently placed the little root system around the clay. Put more on top until covered. The bottom of the clay is barely touching the hydro solution, which is new.

Ummm kinda yup. You can. Anything over 12 hours light would be sufficient. I'd run 18/6. Give her a nice chance to rest and try to grow some roots. Don't worry about giving her tons of light right now she can't handle it. Try to keep the temps comfortable 70-75°f (so like 21-23°c) and the humidity elevated 65-75%rh to reduce her need for water. It's really important to not over saturate the clay pebbles or let them dry out. It's a balancing act until the roots are in the water.

Hey groundtop. I can’t help for even a second with hydro but I’d like to welcome you to the forum. Glad turbo found you here. Feel free to roam about the place. Bathroom’s down the hall on the left. And nobody goes in the locked door on the second floor!
