Where: 89 Hillsboro Street Downtown Pittsboro NC

For several years, ChathamArts has been hosting a Sustainable Cinema series that spotlights the work of the area's filmmakers. Linda Booker was an early participant when in 2009 she screened her film Love Lived on Death Row. More recently, she has been working with Blaire Johnson on a film about the economic, ecological and even residential promise of industrial hemp production. The film is titled Bringing It Home, and to raise money to complete it, the producers are hosting a party. The local jazzy/ funky combo ZamBamBooGee is providing the music, the first 25 ticket buyers get a free Dr. Bronner's Hemp Oil soap and there will be a limited quantity of hemp-based products given away as door prizes. Tickets to the 6 p.m. event are $20 in advance (includes a sandwich and chips), or $22 at the door.
