I tend to top at the fourth node, but it's all personal preference as I was just saying to another member. Popping a little bit higher allows the lower branches to develop more and give you a wire plant when you veg for a longer period of time. That being said, you just have to be careful about the leaves that grow on the underside of your canopy and make sure you keep those thin out so the excess moisture doesn't develop.
Basically you're performing LST (light stem training) your girl. When she grows beyond the point that you have tied down, you can reposition your tie or start a new one and train her to go horizontally as long as you want her to. I tended to up pot My Girls when they get to the point where I no longer have anywhere to tie them down to LOL.
