How tall must the plant be before bud?

I've flowered plants at 5 inches, I stacked em up for 3 weeks, with 6 nodes in 5 inches. I flowered, and each plant looked like I took off a fat ass cola and rooted it...Just 1 big ass bud around 7g dry per plant...they ended up at around a foot a piece. I crammed 50 into a space I have, and ended up with a nice harvest. Herb is a wonderful thing, it will accustom to what you tell it to.

all plants go into strech. if you put it in bud now it will end up around 2-3 feet. it shoots up in the first part of bud, then stops growing. and puts all energy to buds

I'm a first timer and i just started the budding process. I'm giving it between 15 and 16 hours of dark per day. How long do you think that "first part of the bud"-stretch should take? Also how long should i bud it for once it stops stretching and starts really going?

If my plant is like 3 feet tall and i just started budding less than a week ago will it really get that much taller?
