How To Crop?

Sorry for my ignorance on such matters, but I really need help...:-?
Im almost 2 weeks into budding and the buds near the bottom of my plants are far behind in development, they need more light. The higher large leaves make it impossable for any light to hit the lower buds.
I need to know what kind of leave's to cut off and what ones to stay away from.
Oh and should I use a razor? or would some sharp scissors work?
Thx for any and all help :green_heart:

Pictures would give us an idea of what you are seeing on your plant.

Seems like some growers just remove the small stems with small buds found on the lower part of the plant. Every grower that does that has their reasons. A common reason seems to be that the resources the plant would have used on those small flowers is now going to be used on the larger buds near the top.

And, many growers want to keep the larger leaves since those are where the majority of the photosynthesis will be taking place.

As to what to "crop" you might find some help by looking up the term "super cropping" using google or whatever your favorite search engine is. Super cropping is a way of training the top of the plant to let light into the inside of the canopy without removing leaves, or only having to remove a few.
