How to start flowering cycle?

Ive read diff ways to start budding. one person said to let them sit in darkness for 24 hours then start 12/12 cycle. some say just go to 12/12, whats the best way?

should i change my water today?
what about nutes?
any rest inbetween or go straight to 12/12 cycle?

Not sure about nutes but I know for sure the lights can just go to 12/12, haven't heard of any one doing 24hr's of dark. Sounds like a bad idea to me due to the fact tha you are trying to simulate the sun and change of season, and no time during the swich is there a day of total darkness.

Like i said, not sure on the nuts, but I think you just change the water and add the flowering nutes gradually like you did for veg. I could be wrong though. Haven't ben able to do a hydro grow. . . . yet
