How to use fertilizer

Hello, I have 20-20-20 Miracle Grow Fertilizer and last time I used it I wasn't sure how often to use it and how much each time and killed my plants I hear good things about using fertilizer and if you could help me that would be amazing thanks and happy growing.

I was using 20-20-20 at 1/2 recommended dose an increasing till my plants showed signs of to much then back off a lil. An worked fine for me. Now Iam trying floranova an again starting 1/2 what they say to use an increasing. Also every other feeding
