he founders of a new West Dundee business describe their concept as "a wellness boutique and apothecary with a twist."
Melanie Dillon, a licensed clinical professional counselor, and Kalee Hooghkirk, an esthetician and cannabis clinician, recently opened Entourage Clinical Services at 737 S. Eighth St.
"We provide everything a traditional wellness center typically does. But we're also cannabis-conscious," Hooghkirk said.
The menu of services offered by Entourage Clinical Services includes skincare, Reiki, cupping, massage therapy, yoga, and clinical counseling.
And while the wellness boutique is not a licensed medical cannabis cultivation center or dispensary, Dillon and Hooghkirk can help connect clients with the resources they need to obtain the Illinois Medical Cannabis Registry Card.
"We're here to help facilitate that process," said Hooghkirk, who has been a practitioner, advocate, and patient in the alternative health industry for more than five years.
Entourage Clinical Services prides itself on being one of the first facilities in Illinois to offer cannabis-based professional education for patients and health care professionals.
The holistic alternative health clinic is also a distributor of Mary's Nutritionals, the non-THC containing product line of Mary's Medicinals.
Dillon has been in private practice since 1993 as a licensed clinical professional counselor and certified alcohol and other drug counselor.
Entourage Clinical Services has a second storefront location at 697 S. Lake St. in Mundelein.
The duo felt called to "fill in the gaps" with their wellness clinics, Hooghkirk said.
"We said, 'Let's create this collective space that's not just mental health, it's not just yoga or traditional medicine – it's everything working together," she said.
Melissa Hernandez, president of the Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce, is excited to welcome the new business to the community.
"It is a proud moment to witness individuals and businesses investing in the Northern Kane County area," she said. "New businesses benefit us all by creating new jobs and revenue, so it is important that we support them to ensure their success. An investment in our community is an investment in us and the Chamber is excited to be a part of it and looks forward for more to come."
The West Dundee Entourage Clinical Services location offers free consultation services on Fridays. Retail hours are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Mobile locations are available on Thursdays during the Elgin's Harvest Market and Saturdays at the Dundee Depot Market.
