Is 600 watt HID light too much?

i have a 600 watt HPS light that i purchased from another grower locally, and im wondering if its too much light for 2 or 3 plants? im assuming that it is and if so, what would you recommend for 2-3 plants instead?

alright so you think its perfect for what i want to grow? i wasnt sure and thought maybe it was too much, initially i wanted to grow 5 or so plants but that changed recently and yea, thought i might have needed to downsize a bit, but if you think its good then i will keep a hold of it till i get my setup going thanks for the input

It will produce big beautful plants if you just do 2-5 plants, light everywhere ;-)

A minimum of 50 watts per square foot for optimim growth. Square footage is width times length. Any light hitting the floor is wasted light. Controlling the enviroment is the key to growing indoors
