Is vegetation always required?

Got two feminised seeds and put straight into 12/12 400w when seeded. Is this going to work at all? Been just under 3 weeks and growing but not a lot of bud started I don't think. This is my first time doing it alone and need advice

I read of people growing 12/12 right from seed. the plants still go thru a short veg phase I know one journal it was almost a month before they could tell sex.

You can definitely go straight to flower.

Thanks guys a little less worried now. It's been 3 weeks and you can definitely see they are female just not a lot of bud appearing yet. The small hairs are shooting a little tho. Just need to be patient and cross my fingers I suppose! I realise I'd have got more putting them into veg first yeah? But if it gives me a few oz over Christmas ill be happy
