Launched Dec. 7, funding ends Dec. 29 for Mikal Jakubal's 'One Good Year' which tells the story of four medical cannabis growers in the remote hills of Humboldt County, CA.

"With unprecedented access, the film presents an insider's view of this legendary pot-farming culture, the question of legalization, and why many farmers wonder if the good times may be coming to an end," Jakubal writes.

Filmed in 2010 during the Prop 19 debate in California , the film is now in editing, and Jakubal needs $31K for editing and transcripts. Jakubal writes on Kickstarter:

"As we launch this campaign, Colorado and Washington will be implementing their newly-passed legalization bills. Many in the pot-legalization movement are waiting for the Obama administration's next move, now that the election cycle is over. Especially with these new developments, we're hoping that ONE GOOD YEAR will help positively shape public perception of what it means to be a marijuana farmer.

Furthermore, we want our outreach efforts to go beyond mere fundraising and help grow a community interested in both the film and the discussion about legalization and medical use, pro or con. We'd love to have all of you along to expand the reach of the film and to participate in the dialog it will inevitably provoke."

With more than 60 percent of Americans believing weed will be legal in ten years, is it time to start talking about how to protect America's small pot farmers, who could be wiped out by corporate agribusiness?
