Hps - high pressure sodium
Par - photosynthetic active radiation
Plants use light waves 400 nm to 700 nm
Nm- nanometer
Mole - micoromoles of photons per second
Mole 6.022x10n23
Luminous flux- lm quantity of light
Ppf photo synthetic photon flux
Ppfd- photo synthetic photon density
Micro moles of photon per sq meter per second. U moles/ m2 second
Dli - daily light integral
300 unmoles/square meter-secondx3600 second/ hrx16 HR / day 1 mole/ 1000000= 17.28 moles per sq meter -day
J- house
PARE-photosynthetic active radiation efficiency =
Amount of par energy created by a light source divided by the power it takes to create that par energy.
100 micromeles per second consumes 50 watts = joule / second= 2micromoles per joule
Spd - spectral power distribution
Plants absorb energy between 400 / 700 NM absorption
Target efficiency measured in an integrating where
Refector-percentage of light reflected at 90 percent lose up to 40 per cent of target efficiency
Reflects 60 percent on target canopy at 6 inches.
Spd- special power disruption
Spd is lower as par is moved away from canopy.
Lowering the the target efficiency to absobtion.
That's more then we need for now

First you will need to know the canopy to be covered.
The cubed area.
Use the DLI FORMULA to find the amount of PAR needed.
What you are looking for are ( unmole per sq meter )
I used 300 in my formula.
The higher the number the better.
Do not think about watts at this time.
You need to know the amount your garden needs and the amount the PAR is creating.
