Harrison County sheriff deputies located $100,000 worth of marijuana plants being grown outdoors throughout the county Tuesday.

Thomas W. Curtis, 50, of 89613 Country Rd., New Rumley, was arrested and charged with one felony count of cultivation of marijuana after Lt. Mark Touville of the Harrison County Drug Task Force located several plants growing in Curtis’ vegetable garden. Ten plants were seized from Curtis’ garden.

A dispatcher said Curtis was released on his own recognizance after an appearance in Harrison County Court Wednesday.

Touville and Detective Jericoe Jones worked in conjunction with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and the Ohio Highway Patrol, using a helicopter to fly over the county during the annual aerial drug sweep.
