If your mom is a “cool” mom, cannabis companies want you to think outside the box for this year's present. Several cannabis companies aren't shying away from Mother's Day like last year, just the opposite they are embracing it.

“2017 is a different story. We are expecting most clients to offer promotions/sales around Mother’s Day,” said Joel Milton, Chief Executive Officer at Baker, a cannabis software company. “Since normalization is a bigger theme of these markets, dispensaries are realizing how important this demographic is.” Retail is retail no matter the end product and if there is money to be made on a holiday, the dispensaries would be smart to cash in. A survey conducted by the National Retail Federation said that overall shoppers are planning to spend the highest amount in over a decade this year for Moms. The average spend for 2017 is estimated to $186.39 per Mom.

Lowell Farms in California is giving away limited edition cannabis bouquets with the first 20 purchases of their Mother’s Day custom blend, The Maternal Hybrid. The Mother's Day bouquet, which normally retails for $400, is deliverable at participating Los Angeles dispensaries to patients with a verified doctor recommendation. The cannabis bouquet is sourced using Lowell Farms organic cannabis, which is developing a growing reputation for coming up with novelty blends to fit the occasion.

Another cannabis company that wants to be mother's little helper is To Whom It May chocolates. They offer a dosage guide to help shoppers that may want to buy a low dosage for mom. Their chocolates are available in a variety of dosages: 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 15 mg and 45 mg. Shoppers can choose between three box sizes: four, eight or 24 chocolates. Ranging from $30 to $230, To Whom It May chocolates is available both medicated and un-medicated. You can even have them delivered like flowers if you are in Los Angeles.

Puget Sound Marijuana in Washington is running a Mother's Day Flower Special. “We want to celebrate the appreciation we have for the women in our lives,” said a spokesperson for the two store chain. They didn't offer the deal last year, but this year all flower will be discounted by 25%.
