Some residents are up in arms after learning the owner of a medical marijuana store who is opening a retail shop in Aspen wants to build 40,000 square feet of greenhouses, sheds and support facilities for a grow operation in Snowmass Canyon. Members of the Woody Creek Caucus plan to discuss the proposal Thursday by Ron Radtke, who runs Green Essentials in Glenwood and plans to open a store that will cater to both medical marijuana patients and recreational users. According to the Aspen Daily News Pitkin County commissioners on Nov. 6 will take up Radtke's expansion plan, which was submitted last month. Some area residents say the buildings will hurt property values and the plants will emit offensive odors.
