Vineland - Federal and local authorities reported seizing about 500 pounds of marijuana stashed in a trailer that had carried Mexican avocados to Vineland.

No arrests were made in the seizure Wednesday at Millbridge Farm. The two drivers, one from Texas and one from California, were released with the truck. Officials said the drugs had been placed in the trailer in Mexico before the drivers took over.

Vineland police, Cumberland County narcotics officers, and U.S. Customs agents confiscated eight burlap sacks containing the drugs after farmworkers discovered the marijuana as they unloaded pallets of avocados. The workers notified the Utah-based trucking company, CR England, and the company contacted officials. Officials said they suspected that the drugs were supposed to have been placed in a trailer to another destination
