A medical marijuana manufacturing company is making plans to set up shop in Northern New York.

PalliaTech is one of hundreds hoping to get a license to make medicinal cannabis in the Empire State. Licenses will only be granted to five companies.

PalliaTech owners have set their sights on the old Pfizer facility in Chazy to grow their operation, if they are approved by the state.

"Very like the business Pfizer was in. So, we think it'll make a positive impact, we think it'll bring good jobs, good economic stimulus to the area. We really hope we can win this application so we can do that in Chazy," said Andrei Bogolubov of PalliaTech.

Chazy Town Supervisor Mark Henry says the community supports the medical marijuana makers coming to town.

Officials from PalliaTech say they should know by July if they will get a license.
