No Supervisors Meeting for Two Weeks

The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors won't meet Tuesday, June 30 or July 7, but will have a rather full agenda on July 14.

One of the July 14 items will be adoption of the medical marijuana ordinance. It includes the recommended fees for caregivers and non Medi-Cal patients of $166 per card and $83 for Medi-Cal patients, per year.

County supervisors read only the title of the proposed ordinance on June 22.

In addition to the fee schedule, the ordinance also authorizes the implementation of the medical marijuana identification card program and distribution of identification cards to qualified patients and their caregivers.

If approved, the program will initially operate six hours a day, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The County Department of Public Health expects to serve approximately 250-300 patients and caregivers each year.

It would be great to see a system put into place here in SB that finally works because the one they have right now doesn't mean a hell of a lot to law enforcement.
