A 73-year-old Hendersonville man is facing drug trafficking charges after police say dozens of marijuana plants were found in his home.

Vincent Lee Higbee was charged Thursday with two counts of trafficking marijuana, one count of manufacturing marijuana and one count of maintaining a dwelling place for the purpose of controlled substances, according to the Hendersonville Police Department.

When officers served a search warrant at 720 Salisbury Road, they found and seized 54 marijuana plants weighing in excess of 30 pounds along with equipment used to manufacture marijuana, according to police.

The investigation was a collaborative effort involving officers with the Hendersonville Police Department, Henderson County Sheriff's Office and State Bureau of Investigation.

Higbee is being held at the Henderson County Detention Center under a $32,000 secured bond.
