Odor Control-proper use of carbon filter

I have a grow closet 4.5 ft X 5 ft ( about 170 cubic ft ) with a Hurricane Afterburner rated 745 CFM and a Phresh canister filter venting into an attached garage with ventilation. I generally run the fan about half speed but still a strong smell into the garage that I deal with.

I just think I’m not doing something efficiently to decrease odor output. Speed up the fan? Slow it down?

What size is the filter that you are using? It should have a CFM rating. Do not exceed the rating. I run mine at roughly 1/2 the CFM it's rated for without any odors escaping. I also swap ends for every grow, and use it from when I notice an odor in the tent, until the end of the grow.

Phresh filter with 8 inch inlet rated 750 cfm.

I'd contact Phresh and ask for a replacement. Their business won't survive if they do nothing.

Yeah that filter is bad. I would see about a replacement. then switch to a different company. I have never had any smell come through any of my filters. I use Vivisun with zero issues at all. I usually get them for around 70$ for the 8"
