On Monday, January 8, 2001 the opening day of the 2001 Oregon
Legislature, Senate Bill 89 (SB89) was introduced. This bill would
permit production and possession of industrial hemp at the state level.

SUMMARY

The following summary is not prepared by the sponsors of the measure.

Permits production and possession of industrial hemp and trade in
industrial hemp commodities and products. Authorizes State Department of
Agriculture to administer licensing and inspection program for growers
and handlers of industrial hemp. Authorizes civil penalty not exceeding
$2,500.
