A Peoria man who was found with more than 100 grams of cannabis at the Galesburg Amtrak Station pleaded guilty to an amended charge for possession of cannabis Wednesday.

Harley G. Damico, 24, was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to perform 150 hours of community service, have a drug assessment and pay court fees.

In March, officers arrested Damico for a Hancock County warrant, and a search of his backpack revealed 128 grams of cannabis, according to the police report. Damico said it was medical marijuana for personal use.

With the amended charge, Damico faced a maximum sentence of one year in prison, a $2,500 fine or both. He was formerly charged with possession of cannabis between 30 and 500 grams, a Class 4 felony.
