Pollen harvest timing question?

I sprayed a royal queen royal creamatic with Tiresias mist and it's growing pollen sacs. There is a lot of information on how to harvest pollen but not many on when.
Do I wait until they completely open or pull them when they are splitting?

When they split you should be able to see how they look. You want them to be the right color first. Normally takes about 4-5 weeks

I pulled 1 when it split to see what was on the inside and didn't see pollen. It looked like green growth.
Anyway I guess patience is the key to progress

What did you mean by the right color?
