A plan to rezone an area of Augusta - which would allow for a medical marijuana dispensary to open - will be up for discussion Tuesday night.
The planning board is scheduled to hold a public hearing on a proposal to expand the city's medical district to include an area along Old Belgrade Road.
In that new zone is a building at 10 Middle Road that Northeast Patients Group has tagged as a possible spot for a dispensary.
The city's deputy development director says the Augusta city council has been talking about a zone change for a couple of years and it's not in response to Northeast Patients Group.
Tonight's meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Augusta City Center.
If the planning board runs out of time to talk about the zone change, we're told it will be on the agenda at the next meeting, in two weeks.
