Questions when it's time to plant the clones in soil

I have a few clones in a DWC cloner. The roots are anywhere from 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches long. I have a couple of questions:

1. How long should I let the roots get before transplanting them into soil?

2. Is there any special thing that I need to do when I transplant? Should I water A LOT? Should I water a little? Desired Humidity level after transfer?

Pics of ur set up would help but usually after I get strong roots I put them in small plastic cups for a week so I can keep them in a starter tray. I slit the plastic cups on the bottom and bottom water by just adding a half inch of water to the tray a day and let them soak up the water from the bottom this lets me keep them confined but I can also separate as needed as well once they out grow the cups I trans plant by then I could start flowering but I usually veg in the new pots for 1-3 more weeks then flower hope this helps
