Pierre - A measure involving marijuana will not be on the November 2016 general election ballot, according to Attorney General Marty Jackley.

Jackley said in a news release Tuesday that Circuit Court Judge Mark Barnett denied the measure because of the insufficient number of valid signatures, which was also the reason the Secretary of State rejected it earlier.

Melissa Mentele requested the measure be on the upcoming ballot because she believed the Secretary of State did not give her proper notification about the previous denial.

The Circuit Court's decision held that Mentele did not receive timely notification, but that she had also not proven sufficient number of signatures to be included in November.
