Seedlings have shell still on them

Do you let the seedlings push the seed shell off themselves, or give them a bit of help? If you help, how do you help?
Same question, worded differently.
If you have a seedling that is 1/2 inch tall and has the cotyledons covered by the shell still, should you tweezer the shell off?

Thanks for the info

Leave it alone. You try and tweezer it, more than likely you will injure the seedling.

You could put a drop of water on the shell to help soften it and let the seedling shrug it off.
