That's my homemade 134w led bulb fixture. I just put a T5HO in but was sad to see that my homemade light puts out more power than the T5.
I have a cob array but it won't fit in this tent. Like an idiot I made the rails 56 inches long.
Guess I'll have to take it apart and shorten the rails.

Awesome....
Same here. 48" until my lights hit the fan in a 60" high tent.
Here's the Lux report on my homemade LED (from led bulbs from Home Depot) vs my 8 lamp T5H0.
It's pretty sad that the T5HO is so weak. Especially since I only had half the bulbs in the homemade LED. Lol

It cost me $80 to build the LED from Home Depot parts. The T5's sell for $200.

Omg...That's one of the nicest homemade hoods that I have seen.....
What bulbs are you using and how close are you able to get them to the plants....My cab is vert challenged and I am looking at adding either hps or some led.....with led I always read about 12" from tops.....I can't afford to loose that much.

I used the Philips 60w equivalent (8w actual) a box of 4 is $12. The lamp bases were $2 each. I tried the GE bulbs but the Philips blew them away at half the price.

If my math is right you should be able to fit 25 lamp bases in that hood producing 22,000 lumens at only 200w consumption.
That's 8000 lumens short of a 600 watt HPS....at 1/3 the power consumption.
Cost to add the bulbs and the bases would be $125 CDN.

Well...... going by my lamp specs my hood is producing 40,000 lumens at 440 watts...not much difference, and I'm able to have the tops an inch from the lamps. How close can you get the plants to those leds? I'm not looking to replace...just improve.
I can put two 100-150 hps in the top and move the pl-l to the sides for side lighting and still have the plants within 3" of the lights with a cool tube.
