Tahoe Medical Marijuana Provider Reopens

A South Lake Tahoe medical marijuana provider reopened this week after shutting its doors following a raid by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency in January.

Patient to Patient Collective reopened next door to its previous location at 2314 Lake Tahoe Blvd. on Monday, according to a spokesman for the collective, who said the group will soon offer a full line of marijuana products to eligible patients.

In March, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder indicated the federal government would change how it handled medical marijuana dispensaries.

Holder said federal agents would only target medical marijuana dispensaries if they violated both state and federal laws. Under the Bush administration, federal agents targeted medical marijuana dispensaries in California even if they complied with the state's medical marijuana laws.

Federal agents seized 10 pounds of processed marijuana and a small amount of cash during January's raid, but no arrests were made.
