So leave those lower hidden buds until Fathers' Day.

Or leave everything until then, if that's what you want to do. There's no law that requires you to have the most potent buds possible. You undoubtedly have reasons for wanting to wait. If it's a question of safety/security, it's a no-brainer. Reasons of convenience, well... That'd be your judgment call to make. If harvesting now means that the finished product will be excellent, then it'll probably still be pretty good if you wait (a little while). And I suppose, if you don't harvest any now and wait, then you'll never know what you could have had something more potent, anyway, lol.

You are checking the trichome heads on the flowers, I assume, and not the leaves.

take some of the upper colas now and the harvest the rest a week later or whatever.

But they are frosty white.
