urgent help please. light stopped working!

need a bit of help from anyone that knows what i could do. my HPS light has stopped working. the ballast box is making a loud buzzing noise. any advice is greatful. the light ws working fine thismorning when it turned off. and it hasnt tuned back on this afernon.

you can call an electrician or take it to your local hardware store. im not much of DIY when it comes to electronics so i cant offer much advice.
in the mean time you can put a couple CFLs to work.

Keep a backup setup around for times like this. For now get some CFLs on the plants and see if you can get a new ballast under warranty.

Did you wait a while for it to "start up"? The light will turn on and light up slowly to full strength.

The bulb could be dead.

Worst case the transformer could be dying or dead.

hi from london... how long have u had the bulb, was it new or from an old buddy, same with ur ballast, anyway put any sort of light over it for now until u get it sorted, any light is better than nothing...

thanks for the help guys. i rushed the plant over to a mates place and chucked it under there lights. turns out it was the bulb. was only 2 months old. and new when i bought it. the guy at my local hydro shop just replaced the bulb with no charge.
