Canaan - A man from Maine has been arrested on drug charges at Vermont's border with Quebec.

Vermont State Police say 55-year-old Real G-Gagnon was crossing the border at Canaan when a U-S Border Patrol dog sensed there might be drugs in his car.

Authorities searched the vehicle and reported finding seven plastic bags of processed marijuana hidden between the back seat and the trunk.

State police say there was three-and-a-half to four pounds of marijuana, which could have a street value of ten-thousand dollars.

Gagnon was arrested and taken to the Northern State Correctional Facility in Newport.
