The DOJ has filed a Summons and Criminal Complaint in Marathon County Circuit Court against Ronald J. Moore, 55, for attempted possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Prosecutors have charged a defense attorney with using a client to obtain marijuana.

A criminal complaint says 55-year-old Ronald J. Moore called his client, identified only as A.E.P, in February and warned him police were about to raid his house.

Moore told A.E.P. to gather up all the drug-related items in his house. A.E.P. brought a garbage bag containing pipes and a scale to Moore's Wausau office, where Moore told him the district attorney had warned Moore the house was about to be hit.

The next day Moore gave A.E.P. $400 and asked him to buy an ounce of marijuana as a law enforcement informant, even though no such arrangements had been made with the police. Marathon County District Attorney Ken Heimerman says no one ever raided A.E.P.'s house or told Moore about a raid.

Moore's initial appearance is scheduled for October 20 in Marathon County Circuit Court, Wausau, Wisconsin.
