The board overseeing new state's new medical marijuana program meets for the first time today.

The new program was adopted by the Legislature to fix problems and confusion after Michigan voters approved medical marijuana in 2008.

Andrew Brisbo heads the agency that oversees the new medical marijuana program. He says the board will make sure patients, growers, and retailers follow the rules but will not start issuing licenses to them until next year.

He says the meeting will give the public a chance to be heard on how the program should be managed.

"So they have the responsibility to issue licenses and to levy discipline against licensees, so on and so forth," Brisbo said.

This is the first meeting for the board to come together, introduce themselves to the public and the stakeholder groups that are interested in this new industry in Michigan.

The so called board is stacked with state police officers and prohibitionists . No medical professionals or any one that knows the first thing about cannabis . Don't expect anything from this shit show . All they will do is find more ways to deny people access to medical cannabis and put people in prison .
