400w lighting system

im setting up a room which measures 1.2m x 1m x 2.5m high... im running a 6 inch carbon filter and 1 400w light.. would this be ideal to grow 6 plants and would it make much diffrence to the yield as on my last grow i used a 600w lamp but this has now packed up... any feedback will be apprecate pls... thanks

You will see a slight reduction in overall yield, but not much.

Overall it will let you get the bulbs closer to the plants which will counter the reduction of intensity via the square inverse law. A 400w at around 10" from the canopy puts out around 22,000 Foot Candles and a 600w at 15" produces about 22,000 Foot Candles, so being that if you run the 400w bulb closer to the top of the canopy, there should be not much difference at all in yield.

You also can scrog with the 400w to allow better light coverage and spread and you may even increase your yield.
