Amber vs cloudy trichs

everyone always says that you gotta wait for the amber trichs cuz that's when it's ripest. they'll tell you "if you wait for the amber trichs you get the couch lock body high. if you harvest when they're clear/cloudy you'll get the mind high".

but really... when you're growing indica weed, it's going to be predominantly a couch lock body stone. so if we harvest an indica strain with clear or cloudy trichs, is it going to alter noticeably to more of a mind high?

is the difference really great enough to make it worth mentioning?

all i know is that when the trichs begin to turn amber, that means the THC levels are on their way down and that its time to harvest because otherwise you'll sacrifice potencty, no?

No, your info is pretty off in a few areas.

The difference is vastly different between a clear trich indica and one with all cloudy/amber. The potency, yield, and simply the effect is going to be drastically different.

Just like if you take a sativa and smoke it with all clear trichomes. Yeah it'll get you high for a little bit, and some strains may even have a ok effect. But many of the turpines and cannabinoids are not going to be mature, or even exist yet. So not only are you smoking inferior thc levels but all the other things that add to the effects like the turpines, and CBNs are also far less.

Also this:
"all i know is that when the trichs begin to turn amber, that means the THC levels are on their way down and that its time to harvest because otherwise you'll sacrifice potencty, no?"

Is not a correct statement. When a few trichomes first start switching over to amber from there are still plenty of trichomes forming into cloudy from clear and even some new ones starting as well. The key to optimal harvests, is harvesting at the point that the potency is reaching its within correlation to the yield. This time will vary between strains, but it typically happens when a plant has 10-50% amber.
